Nick Ellsmore

Senior Vice President, Worldwide Consulting and Professional Services

 

Nick Ellsmore is Senior Vice President of Worldwide Consulting and Professional Services at Trustwave, leading the global team providing strategic advisory services to clients along with the elite SpiderLabs penetration testing and incident response teams.  With over 20 years of experience in delivering strategic cybersecurity advice for clients throughout the Asia Pacific, Nick’s most recent engagement was working to design the operating model for a ‘shared cybersecurity service’ hub as an initiative under Australia’s 2020 Cyber Security Strategy.

Nick is an experienced cyber-security entrepreneur and has started, built, merged, acquired and sold multiple cyber-security businesses. Most recently, Nick was Global Head of Strategy for the Consulting & Professional Services business in Trustwave following the sale of his company, Hivint, to Trustwave in 2018. Prior to Trustwave and Hivint, Nick was co-founder of Stratsec, sold to BAE Systems in 2010. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Graduate of the Australian institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Information Systems & Management) from UNSW, Australia.

The inaugural “Australian Information Security Association (AISA) Information Security Professional of the Year” in 2012, Nick is a past Australian APEC TEL delegate, is on the advisory boards for the schools of Information Systems & Management, and Computer Science & Engineering at the University of New South Wales, is a published author on the topic of cyber security in intelligence and government, and has delivered over 120 presentations to a range of global conferences on cyber security and startup topics.
