2025 Cyber Resilience Research Discovers Speed of AI Advancing Emerging Attack Types

New Global Data Helps Organizations Move to Cyber Resilience and Shatter Silos

It is no secret that AI is advancing at a blistering pace for everyone – including cyber adversaries. The mainstream unveiling of generative AI in 2024 brought about the biggest disruption in computing since the microprocessor.

AI solutions promise the world unprecedented levels of efficiency, speed, and automation. However, this seemingly utopian and disruptive technology is evolving more quickly than governance and regulations can keep pace and implement guard rails for use and adoption.

The rapid pace of AI evolution and power for business is also a powerful way for cyber adversaries to advance their craft. They are taking advantage of the speed and scale of AI to continue with traditional attack types as well as moving quickly with emerging and sophisticated attacks.

The new 2025 LevelBlue Futures Report: Cyber Resilience and Business Impact highlights the struggle for organizations to discern deepfake attacks – 59% of organizations say it is becoming more difficult for employees to discern real from not real; 44% of organizations say deepfakes and synthetic identity attacks are likely in their organization within the next year; and 32% of organizations say they are prepared for deepfake and synthetic identity attacks.
