Joel Smith is Chief Legal Officer at LevelBlue, where he is responsible for managing the company's global legal, corporate, and regulatory compliance affairs. In this role, Joel partners with executive leadership to guide corporate strategy, complex transactions, and mergers & acquisitions. Joel also leads the company’s information security, risk, and facilities functions, integrating these disciplines to strengthen LevelBlue’s operational resilience and position as a trusted cybersecurity partner.

Prior to joining LevelBlue, Joel was the Chief Administrative Officer at Trustwave, inclusive of his role as General Counsel and Chief Human Resources Officer. In that role, Joel directed legal, compliance, HR, and information security teams, supported multiple complex divestures and sales of the business, and played a key role in corporate restructuring and strategic alignment following ownership transitions.

Joel also served in several legal management roles for Generac Holdings, a leading manufacturer of consumer and industrial backup power systems, primarily focused on corporate governance, compliance, and strategic transactions.

Joel holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a bachelor’s degree from Butler University.
