Certification Meets Government IT Health Check Standards
LONDON (25 May 2011) - Trustwave, a leading provider of information security and compliance solutions, today announced it has been validated as an IT Health Check, or CHECK, services provider for Her Majesty's Government (HMG) in the United Kingdom.
CESG, the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance, has traditionally provided IT health check services for HMG and the wider public sector focusing on systems handling protectively marked information. As demand for these services have grown, CESG formed CHECK, a partnership with data security firms to enhance the availability and quality of the IT health check services that are provided to government entities in line with HMG policy.
IT health checks, also known as penetration testing and ethical hacking engagements, identify vulnerabilities in IT systems and networks that may compromise the confidentiality, integrity or availability of information held on them. Companies belonging to CHECK are measured against stringent standards set by CESG. As part of the validation process, Trustwave submitted to a rigorous review of its security practices and methodologies for testing network and application environments and provided evidence of adherence to the CESG security standards.
